Sautéed Shishito Peppers

Sautéed shishito peppers is a great option for a light and healthy snack. Usually mild in flavor, this appetizer is a fun option for group gatherings.

Ingredients

  • Dash of olive oil
  • ½ lb shishito peppers
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • ½ lime (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large sauté over medium-high heat.
  2. When the oil is hot, add the shishito peppers (whole) in one layer.
  3. Sprinkle kosher salt and black pepper over peppers.
  4. Sauté for an additional 4 to 6 minutes until peppers are blistered and browned, making sure to toss the peppers frequently.
  5. Take pan off the heat and squeeze lime juice over the peppers. Sprinkle additional salt if desired.
  6. Transfer peppers to a serving dish and serve hot.
